OANC Leadership
Kent Boese is the Executive Director of the Office of Advisory Neighborhood Commissions, confirmed by the Council of the District of Columbia on November 1, 2022. With a strong background in public service, from 12 years as an ANC Commissioner (including 8½ years as chair and 2½ years as secretary), Director Boese is committed to equipping ANC Commissioners with the tools, training, and technology they need to do their jobs effectively and efficiently.
Technical Support
For technology assistance, the District’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) provides a comprehensive support hub through OCTO HELPS. Commissioners can use this portal to request IT support, resolve software or hardware issues, and access other enterprise services
- Commissioners traveling internationally and needing access to their ANC email must submit the International Travel Access Request Form through the OCTO HELPS portal.
- Note: ANC Commissioners must designate Executive Director Kent Boese as their supervisor for approval purposes.
- New or current Commissioners who need help with this process, or with any ANC/O365 access issue should contact Ronald Gaither (OANC) at: [email protected].
Remote Meeting Options
ANC Commissioners have several secure and accessible platforms available for virtual or hybrid meetings:
- The OANC website and the 46 individual ANC websites for public notices, meeting materials, and official communication.
- Zoom, used to host monthly public ANC meetings in a hybrid virtual format.
- Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), supporting communication, file sharing, and real‑time collaboration.
